The simplest is a fan unit of measurement that sits on top of the annals. Another selection is an in-line fan that you can install in the duct line. The 3rd type, shown here, is a recessed fan that fits into the duct and is affluent with the floor. Recessed duct fans are sized to fit either a 4 ten 10-in. or 4 x 12-in. floor duct. If you have either of these sizes, order the fan and install information technology in place of the annals. And so plug information technology in and you lot're washed (Photos 1 and 2). However, if your floor duct is smaller (like 2 x ten in. or two x 12 in.) y'all'll take to cutting out a section of the floor and install a larger boot. If the ceiling beneath the duct is open, you could practice most of the piece of work from beneath. If you lot accept a hardwood, tile or other finished flooring surface with a finished ceiling beneath, information technology may be easier to open the ceiling beneath the duct and patch it when you're washed.

It's also a skillful idea to check your ducts for leaks and missing insulation, which could be contributing to the trouble. Run into Plug Leaky Ducts and Insulating Crawl Space Ducts for more than information.
